As part of an ongoing series, Elisabeth Moss shot by MeInMyPlace for Esquire Magazine.
But First, a Joke! (And Another Joke Down There)
Two cannibals were eating dinner. One said, “I really hate my sister.” The other said, “Well, just eat the noodles.”
About the Jokester:
Elisabeth Moss may have a confidence problem. Before she got the role as Peggy Olson, the secretary-turned-copywriter on AMC’s Mad Men, she was Elisabeth Moss, the president’s daughter on The West Wing. Before that she was Elisabeth Moss, sitting in a room, competing against the star of her favorite show: “I remember Danica McKellar — Winnie on The Wonder Years — was in the waiting room at one of my West Wing auditions,” the 29-year-old says. “I thought, There’s no way I’m getting this.” But Moss got the job and after seven successful seasons, landed Mad Men. It took a while for the success of the show to sink in. “When Jon [Hamm] won the Golden Globe that first year, I thought, This is actually happening. People are actually watching.” It’s probably time she moved on from the demure phase of her career. We’re glad we can help with that.
